Payback.Guru is an independent reference on Payback points and Miles and More miles. It exists for one reason: turning an ordinary life into flights.

The origin

The people behind it learned Payback and Miles and More the hard way, by researching, spending money on the wrong things, and starting over more than once. What they wanted was a cheatsheet that returned some cashback from regular purchases and day to day life. That want is why the site exists, and why it is a reference desk rather than a scheme.

The rules it holds to

1. Never buy for the points. A purchase must make sense on its own. Nothing here pushes a reader into spending they would not otherwise do.
2. Stay in day to day life. Earning fits into routines that already exist. The basics get done, rather than a routine being built around earning.
3. Make points from life, not life about points. The programme serves a normal week, not the other way round.

How it is funded

The site is paid for by commission on some outbound links, at no extra cost to the reader. A commission never buys a claim, a ranking position, or a favourable figure. Recurring costs are kept near zero: free hosting, a domain, and compute.

Money in and out is recorded, and figures are dated and sourced rather than asserted.
